How do you win the game when you can’t predict what the field might look like from play to play? In that much uncertainty, long-term victory hinges on principles.
The principles of the Democratic Party’s platform boil down to two things: respect and kindness–for our people, for our land, and for ourselves. We’re building out our bench of fighters to defend these principles, and we want YOU to be a part of it, to take the leap and run for office. Every voice in power is another hand pushing for the change needed to bring our communities through today’s storm and build a better future. King County Democrats wants to help you get elected, from paperwork to campaigning. Bring your voice, and we’ll make it loud. You can learn more here.
And speaking of being loud, the 12 was out in force last Wednesday to celebrate our Seattle Seahawk’s tremendous Superbowl victory, and King County Democrats volunteers were there handing out thousands of ICE OUT towels. We have a lot to be proud of, and a lot to fight for.
And that’s not the only place our principles have shined. Several local speakers joined our last KCDCC meeting to talk about ways to support indigenous peoples, LGTBQIA+, and veterans, as well as ways to get involved with policy at the county level. We’d like you to hear what they had to say, and consider supporting their organizations:
- Christiana Woodcock, speaking for NO HATE in WA State Oppose IL26-001, IL26-638
- Derrick Belgarde, speaking for Chief Seattle Club
- Will Booth, speaking for Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services
- Kellen Hoard, speaking about county policy and advocacy
