Oct. 2026 (Week 4): Erasing Any Doubt: Two Weeks Out
The early-voting stats say Democrats are ahead. The polls say Democrats will win. Well, they said that in 2016, 2020, and in 2024. We all know how those turned out. It’s as we’ve said: Polls are not results. Only votes cast and counted are results.
And we need more than results. We need a torrent of victories so overwhelming that they that they thwart any doubt or opposition. It’s possible! But to achieve it, we need as many people as possible to get involved, whether that means door knocking, phone banking, or any other form. We can’t just win. We need to triumph. For that, we need you.
Here are a few races we want to put special emphasis on:
- Five (FIVE!) Washington state’s Supreme Court Justices will be on the ballot this year. We need to ensure that our communities receive just and fair support. These state supreme court races will be crucial in shaping how the people of our state weather the years ahead.
- Three initiatives will be on the ballot this fall, all courtesy of Brian Heywood. All three must be defeated.
- I-638 would require girls (but notably: not boys!) to undergo genital inspection to play sports at school.
- I-001 risks removing protections for children in abusive homes and would all but require outing students to their caretakers.
- I-645 is a last-ditch effort to repeal implementation of the “Millionaires’ Tax” on income earned beyond a million dollars.
- Over in the 12th Legislative District, Democrat Stacy Willoughby could flip an important seat. She’s facing a well-funded, extreme-right MAGA opponent. This seat is ready to flip and the people of LD12 are ready for change!
Of course, these aren’t the only races that could use your help. Our endorsements are the result of scores of interviews with candidates at every level. Every one of them would welcome your involvement.

We also want to share (and echo!) the 32nd Legislative District Democratic Organization‘s response to a recent attack ad from Washingtonians for a Brighter Future against candidate Cindy Ryu:
To imply that any single legislator is responsible for a shooting along Aurora Avenue is just plain wrong.
The 32nd District Democrats stand firmly with Cindy as a strong advocate and believe she should be elected as our next State Senator.”
Sadly, this race isn’t the only one to see mudslinging emerge. We’d like to remind everyone to please remain focused on candidates’ proposals for action if elected.
There is so much going on:
